Latifa Laâbissi

France

Latifa Laâbissi who likes to mix up different styles and who particularly appreciates a great variety of individuality, invented a dance about the identities in the making. Using
the title of Romain Gary’s novel, Latifa Laâbissi creates a play for 4 performers, where she explores the devastation imposed on our perceptions and on our feelings. Avoiding mass media, violent and insidious indoctrinations, she pays a tribute to a strategy of camouflage, to movements of escape and evasion presented in a shape of poetic resistance. In a liana scenography where everything is linked, the choreographer using patterns and the commitment of her previous creations like La Part du rite or Pourvu qu’on ait l’ivresse, offers us hints for a way out, for thought.
