CREATION
Two dancers on stage, one from hip-hop background, the other from contemporary dance get themselves into a choreography at the same time repetitive and recreational to illustrate the transmission of an adult to a child and the teenager’s revolt.
MANI. A. MUNGAI (France)
Of Kenyan origine, Mani A. Mungai discovers contemporary dance with the company Gaara Projects Opiyo Okach. During his training in 2001 at the Ecole des Sables Germaine Acogny Senegal, he met Bernardo Montet and joined his company in 2002. He is a permanent dancer of the National Choreographic Centre of Tours until 2005. He danced in O.MORE and 2C Course (Vobiscum) Bernardo Montet. Ever since in parallel to his dancer/performing career he has been making projects as a choreographer. With his company Cie Wayo, he created from 2006 onwards three solos entitled Chronological Pt.1, Babel Babled, Blabla Blabla and then in January 2013 the trio, I like-me (m’aime pas mal) in the Pharenheit Festival in CCN du Havre in France. He danced for Opiyo Okach and Raphaelle Delaunay, Farid Berki, Emmanuel Grivet. He is now working with Boris Charmatz and Rachid Ouramdane.
