Margin Release f/f

LENIO KAKLEA

Grèce / France

Margin Release deals with the otherness of the languages and the bodies. It is a dance for two, where the difference between what is our very own and what is not, between us and the other progressively decreases. The audience is invited to dive into the privacy and to look through the masks of the dancers, right side up or or inside out, to observe them.

LENIO KAKLEA
Lenio Kaklea was born in Athens in 1985.
She graduated from the Athens National School of Contemporary Dance (S.S.C.D), the two year dance training program at the CNDC in Angers (FAC) and the Masters program SPEAP, a program of experimentation in arts and politics conducted by Bruno Latour (Scienes Po, Paris).

In 2009, she created matter of act, an eight weeks experimental process during which a group of spectators appropriated a number of shows they assisted to and made a performance out of what they saw. (co-production Athens festival 2009).
In 2010 she made a second version of matter of act for the residency Summer Intensive organised by Christine de Smedt in Ghent (co-producation les ballers de C de la B). In 2010, she organized fluctuat nec mergitur a scenic traffic jam with 250 participants in the frame of the competition danse elargie, (event organised by the Musee de la dance and the Theatre de la Ville).

Arranged by date has been shown in Paris (Menagerie de Verre), Athens (Athens festival), Vienna (Impulstanz), Marseille (Parallel Festival), Atelier de Paris/Carolyn Carlson (June events).

Margin Release was shown at CDC-Atelier de Paris/Carolyn Carlson, Centre Pompidou, Festival Latitudes Contemporaines/Lille and Athens festival.
