Époque with a movie and a song

VOLMIR CORDEIRO & MARCELA SANTANDER CORVALÁN

Brazil/Chile

UNSEEN

The performance is vertiginous: two dancers dressed in black on a black background mime a sequence of extreme emotions. They twist their faces and their flesh to go from terror to ecstasy, from rage to delight forming exhilaratedimaginative scenarios full of contorted ghosts. Drawing their inspiration from the scandalous and grotesque dances performed by female artists in 20th century, Volmir Cordeiro and Marcela Santander Corvalán invent a mysterious walk through these archives to revive them. The reminiscences of collective imagination of subversion that impose themselves with force, provoking a nagging worry... and a liberating laugh. In Vauban venue, Époque will be exceptionally accompanied, nourished and moved around by the improvised and performative music of Philippe Foch.
